Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers have reinstated pitcher Rich Harden from the 15-day disabled list to start Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Harden was placed on the DL June 12, one day after his last big league start, with a left gluteal strain.
The right-hander made four rehabilitation starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City and went 0-2 with a 5.19 earned run average.
Harden, in his first season with the Rangers after two with the Chicago Cubs, is 3-3 with a 5.68 ERA in 13 starts this season.
To make room for Harden on the roster, Texas optioned pitcher Doug Mathis to Oklahoma City.
The right-hander is 1-1 with a 6.04 ERA in 13 relief outings over three stints with the Rangers this season.
